My name is Anne and I have been tutoring with Literacy Together for 18 years. It's been a great 18 years and I love tutoring even more than I did at the beginning. It's not just teaching that I love. I love learning from my students as well. I usually have three one-on-one students at any one time. I can't say enough good things about Literacy Together. Erin, Meghan and the rest of the staff are wonderful., always accessible, always willing to help, not just with grammar and vocabulary, but also with managing the interpersonal aspects of teaching. I am hoping this forum will take off, as I love talking with my fellow tutors.
I just started tutoring this year and am happy to facilitate the learning process for such a lovely student. Even though I have no knowledge of Russian or Ukrainian language, we have made great progress together. I enjoy doing my tutoring on Zoom and find the Literacy Together staff to be very helpful and supportive.😊
I've been a Literacy Together tutor in Adult Literacy, then ESOL, since April 2018. I find it challenging but extremely rewarding. Currently I have three students (one couple from Afghanistan using Ventures 1 and one more advanced Hispanic student just finishing Ventures 5 ("Ventures Transitions"). I live on a mountain between Black Mountain and Old Fort, with my wife and a number of bears. My other activities include stained glass and fused glass art, designing and making kaleidoscopes, furniture making, and experimenting with cocktail recipes.

This blog is well organized and shows great promise. I think it will be very useful. Thank you, Aimee!
